Welcome to the new Two Blooms Design Studio and Sugar soap

Hello,

For those following Splurge I have set up a redirect to the new URL.

Welcome to our new name, Two Blooms Design Studio. We felt that our Splurge name no longer reflected our line of products and our future goals.

The new name was a process. It started on a ferry ride back from Vancouver BC to Victoria BC and ended with a cup of tea at home:)

Since there are two of us, it signifies the way we use colour, combine custom scents, design labels, create recipes etc. The word bloom signifies growth and possibility,  the word studio reflects our creative workspace and where we design our products. Thus Two Blooms Design Studio was born.

Eventually our website will reflect that name. Our twitter, blogspot and Flickr all reflect our new name and gradually our products will reflect the name as well.

Now what you have all been waiting for is more photos of soap.  Here is my Sugar soap in the mold:

Sugar soap in my custom Soaphutch mold

I love my Soaphutch mold and Rich was wonderful to work with and we spent a lot of time going back and forth on design. My mold has a lot of pieces but it can do a 18 divider mold option that allows me to go up higher to create more bars, three 3 log molds that are my standard size bar of 3.5x2.25 and also 3 logs that are 3.18x2.18 (similar to the famous Kelsei size), also I can create a custom size bar by using my end slots and putting them flush and then using the provided dividers for any width I want. Plus I have several smaller pieces to shorten logs or make individual soaps so it's very versatile.

Here is the cut soap:

Stay tuned for more soapy/creative creations,

Michelle and Caron

Your mold sounds absolutely amazing!! I can't believe how many options you get - how wonderful! And your sugar soap turned out so pretty too. :)

Jen,

Thanks, it's always a challenge with this scent as it turns brown on it's own.

Amy,

Thank you, I love my mold and used to use the plastic premade ones and I still use my small 2 pound wood mold when making smaller batches. I spent so much time creating this with Rich so it would work for me in the future.

Love the new name! I'm also lovin' your Sugar Soap. There is something almost whimsical about the swirl =)
