"Thank a Soaper" Day

This post is for all you that work SO hard to make beautiful soap.  For the hours you spend toiling over scent selections, oil blends and color combinations.  Were you to tally up your hours, you'd probably be getting paid pennies for your art.

We appreciate you and we thank you for inspiring us to dream bigger and create brighter than we thought possible.  A special thank you to Amy, Celine, Jen, Annemarie and others for your kind notes, encouragement and ideas - we think you're the best!

Two Blooms Design Studio is showcasing at 5+ weekly markets and we're excited for the potential.  What we're also dealing with is living on a SMALL island and having 1) a local store selling soap making lessons 2) new soapers coming out and selling after only 6 months of making soap and 3) being grilled by customers about our scents/supplies and then turning around and starting to make/sell their soap.

Yes, competition is good, we agree.  And yes, it was bound to happen and we will survive (we've been creating soap for 10 years, we're not going anywhere).  But it does take a little wind out of our sails.  So what we've done is what we do best - we are going to continue to create brilliant products and not dwell on the copy cats.  After all, we are Two Blooms and that in itself is unique.

So once again, thank you to everyone for walking with us and here's to another ten years in this wonderful community.  It has been WONDERFUL to meet lovely people from all over the world!

Happy Soapers Day Everyone!

The definition of Ethics ? (Yup applies to soapers too) "Do the right thing WELL" Keep doing what you are doing and your product will continue to shine.

Michelle & Caron: You ladies are so sweet, and I sure understand the "competition-thing" and shall we call it the "questionable ethics" of other soapers.....I've been there, more than once. (Most recently I was told that "heirloom soap" is a generic term how quaint, and convenient to tag along on someone else's brand recognition & SEO efforts -grrr!) But I digress. You're right, your work will continue to shine and be THE soap! Best wishes, keep your chin up & most of all DON'T give up! ;) ~Becky

They will come and they will go, like many once they figure out there is a lot of hard work involved and it's not a get rich quick scheme.

As to your scents well you mix everything.

You girls have the creativity to survive.
