Coffee Balm close up |
Hope you all had a blessed Easter.
I recently bought a batch of refined shea butter and prior to this was using the unrefined which I never had an issue with. So I had to temper my new shea butter.
Before the shea butter was tempered:

You can use the shea butter without tempering it but the end result may not be as smooth. The product will absorb once you apply it.
To temper the shea butter I put it in a double boiler at about 180 degrees for about 20 minutes and then put it in the freezer to cool.
This is the finished result:

I was inspired by Anne Marie's body butter recipe that I decided to try it out. I completely changed her recipe as I didn't have some of the ingredients listed and it came out great. Here are photos of my Coffee Balm:

I decided to not add any scent so all you smell is coffee butter which smells like the real thing.

Next up I made whipped body Soufflé and added one of our custom essential oil blends that is infused with citrus, floral and woodsy notes.

Ah! I have coffee butter too and have been wanting to make cocoa coffee lip balm. What else is in your balm besides the coffee butter and shea? They look wonderful.
The Coffee Butter Sisters... I also have Coffee Butter and have used it in an awesome coffee-sugar scrub and coffee lip balm. The coffee lip balm didn't sell well... Coffee butter is AMAZING but expensive. That balm looks gorgeous. And there are my tins! I use the same ones! xo Jen
Briny,
Thanks, I used whatever oils I had on hand. Try Rice Bran, Avocado oil, etc.
Jen,
Thanks, I noticed you had the same type of containers. I know it's interesting what customers like.
That Coffee Butter Balm is a beautiful thing - I bet it smells fabulous.
Tierra,
Thanks, yes it smells just like coffee which I quite like. I have a scent that is Turkish Mocha and it's wonderful but more on the sweet caramel side but sometimes a nice straight coffee scent has a simplicity to it.
I want!
