Where? Oh Where?

You've been wondering where we are haven't you? Yup, you keep checking and checking and still nothing new. Hmmmmmmm. What could that mean?

Well it means good things. Distance makes the heart grow fonder does it not?

We took a 3 day whirlwind trip to one of our favorite cities and it was worth every second. We checked out the latest on soaps, lotions, labels and design - it was a true fact finding jaunt and it left us refreshed and focused. Plus we checked out our favorite raw vegan restaurant as well (yes, we're still eating a raw vegan diet - almost 2 years now:).

We're making LOTS of soap and that in itself is joyful. The weather has been a little cold lately so it's hard to believe the market will be starting in just a few weeks. It's time to pull out the tent, start the new decorating theme and begin designing/printing new labels.

We've also been experimenting with locally grown wheat - can you believe it? I made a trial loaf yesterday and gave it to a friend who is a true foodie. She is a serious expert on good food and I knew that no matter what she thought - it would be honest. Here's what she wrote "your bread was incredible, absolutely delicious. Toasted lightly with butter, the pleasing thump on the bottom of the loaf showing how perfectly it was baked, dense yet not heavy". Woo hooo - so excited with her review. Some friends are lending me their grinder so I'll be grinding my own local wheat as well. Will be experimenting with pizza this weekend too.

Everyone wonders how I can be raw vegan but bake so much. Easy. I can 'taste' food by their smell and by appearance - plus I have wonderful volunteers who tell me exactly what everything tastes like.

So it's going to be an exciting year for us at the market -we've birthed a few new projects so there will be something for everyone. Saturday, May 2nd will be our first market day - come rain or shine.

In the meantime, know that we're here, creating away and practicing the art of thankfulness.

Blessings,

the splurge sisters
