The Kindness of Strangers

The reasons why we love our market our endless - and yesterday was an example of the kindness that exists there.

Someone that we knew casually came by with an emergency request. We had extras of what they needed and we didn't think anything of it. We went on with our market and had a FABULOUS day (and the amazing weather was so appreciated after our first two weeks:)

As we were packing up, getting ready to leave - this person came by with an armful of HUGE organic rhubarb to thank us for coming to their aid. We were speechless and humbled by her kindness.

Which got us thinking about the simplicity and power of gratitude. So while we are cutting up our rhubarb and devising up yummy ways to use it, we're thinking about how we can show our gratitude for the kindness and generosity we've received. Years ago there was a movie about 'paying kindness forward'. Maybe this holiday weekend we'll find the video and watch it and see how we can pay our blessings forward.

In the meantime, we'll be creating with our rhubarb and who knows - maybe there will be a rhubarb soap or...?

Blessings,

the splurge sisters
